Job summary

Avoca Risk, LLC seeks a Vice President, Risk & Portfolio Analytics based in Chicago. The role advances analytics across the platform, requiring 3–5 years in insurance analytics or related fields and a trajectory toward leadership.

You will partner with underwriting, tech, finance, and risk stakeholders to deliver portfolio insights and pricing analysis while mentoring junior staff. The successful candidate will bring strong technical capability, commercial judgment, and the ability to translate

Qualifications

Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience within insurance, actuarial, catastrophe modeling, or portfolio analytics.
Progress toward ACAS, FCAS, or equivalent analytical credential is preferred.
Working knowledge of ISO-based pricing methodologies and property/casualty rating structures.

Responsibilities

Produce portfolio reporting, performance analysis, and actionable insight into underwriting trends.
Translate complex data into clear decision support for senior leadership and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and automated reporting tools with the software development team.
Provide regular management reporting on key portfolio KPIs across the underwriting platform.
Assist with actuarial and exposure management activities, including rate methodology reviews and pricing adequacy assessments.
Produce ad hoc portfolio and carrier analytics to support business planning and stakeholder requests.
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team best practices.
