Job description

Overview

As VP Product, Interoperability, you will own and execute Cotiviti’s market strategy, product roadmap and commercial growth for health plan interoperability — extending our leading industry position and expanding our impact into broader payer / provider collaboration. You will bring unique insight into payer priorities, challenges, and blind spots; prioritize market needs; run competitive analysis; engage experts within and outside our organization; and lead product launches that expand our client value proposition and advance Cotiviti’s market position. Hands‑on knowledge of payer administrative processes and payer / provider interoperability is essential, along with a genuine passion for solving hard problems and improving the healthcare system.

Reporting to the SVP of Product, you will have full ownership and accountability for product vision, definition, packaging, and market success across Cotiviti’s interoperability platform and commercial solutions. You will lead a matrixed, multi-level team, prioritizing and enhancing our existing solutions while delivering next‑generation payer / provider collaboration solutions. You will bridge product vision, operational design, and commercial success — defining Cotiviti’s approach across the product lines you support. You will advocate and solution to ensure that all Cotiviti’s product offerings are FHIR native and leveraging our Interoperability Platform[CC1.1].

Cotiviti is evolving our market approach to become the utility layer for healthcare—reducing friction and significantly improving coordination across the system. In this role, you will play a key role in defining and executing Cotiviti’s expanded vision and improving healthcare. This is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role for a leader who combines deep product and market domain expertise, healthcare knowledge, business acumen, creativity, sound business judgment, and sharp analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

You will lead a cross‑sectional, matrixed team, driving a customer- and sales‑focused approach to building and launching new products, capabilities, and offerings into the marketplace. Here’s what you’ll own:

Vision
  • Leverage deep subject matter expertise to provide input into Cotiviti’s strategic plan across business units.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop targets for annual bookings, revenue, expenses, and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as a voice of the customer in new product management and development.
Strategic & Product Leadership
  • Develop multi-year roadmaps that provide deep insight into how we can become integral to the payer/provider collaboration journey, from provider workflows through post‑adjudication.
  • Provide executive leadership for Cotiviti’s interoperability business, including product strategy, market strategy, operational strategy, revenue growth, client outcomes, and long‑term business expansion.
  • Develop and influence corporate strategy related to interoperability, provider connectivity, healthcare data exchange, and payer‑provider collaboration.
  • Serve as Cotiviti’s executive representative with key clients, strategic partners, regulators, industry consortiums, and market influencers.
Operational & Technical Leadership
  • Provide unique insight into the internal mechanics and challenges of payer platforms, processes, and administrative inefficiency, as well as payer/provider interoperability.
Process Improvement
  • Drive process re‑engineering efforts leveraging AI and emerging technologies to drive transformative changes and improve the system.
Financial & Risk
  • Provide knowledge of how payers identify and eliminate administrative waste in claims processing, prior authorization, and other core operational processes through advanced data analytics tools, including areas of strength and gaps.
  • Leverage expertise in how payers currently perceive and manage costs with siloed or competitive approaches.
  • Own business performance, revenue growth, operating margin achievement, investment prioritization, and long‑range financial planning for the interoperability business.
Compliance & Legal Oversight
  • Act as an authority for ensuring all products and operational workflows adhere to state and federal regulations.
Product Management
  • Lead a multidisciplinary organization through Directors, Senior Directors, and other senior leaders responsible for Product Management, Product Operations, Market Strategy, and Product Commercialization.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across Product, Marketing, Sales, Business Unit Operations, and R&D to develop and launch enhancements to the solutions portfolio.
  • Align with Business Unit and R&D processes, including SAFe Agile, as well as Product Management teams for delivering capabilities.
  • Define success criteria, review product performance against expectations, and facilitate or influence changes to the product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimize product performance.
Go to Market
  • Own the definition of customer experience for end‑to‑end solutions.
  • Lead completion and upkeep of Ready to Market (R2M) and Ready to Sell (R2S) tools, content, and training.
Team Leadership
  • Collaborate with the Product leadership team to establish and continuously improve processes for Product Management.
  • Assist Business Unit leaders in defining core processes and staffing needs to support new solutions.
Coaching
  • Champion the discipline of product development and product management practices, ensuring teams have the essential tools, processes, and skill sets to build product and service roadmaps that align with Cotiviti’s strategic and operational plans.
Growth
  • Define and execute three-to-five-year growth strategies, including market expansion, partnership strategies, acquisition integration opportunities, and innovation investments.
  • Be accountable for developing solutions that support profitability, efficiency, and growth targets.
  • Lead others in the design and development of new products.
  • Ask effective questions to fully understand client needs and engage others to solve those challenges. Assist in developing pricing strategies to maximize overall returns.
Quality
  • Work closely with technology, operations, and senior leadership to ensure releases are of the highest quality and the team can demonstrate progress against quality goals through clear metrics.
  • Hire, develop, coach, lead, and retain top‑tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that employs best‑in‑class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal‑setting process.
