Job summary

Venture Search is seeking a VP to join a global bank's Private Funds Group on the Distribution side. The role focuses on developing and managing LP relationships, especially with institutions in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.

You will originate and drive capital raising for private equity funds, present investment strategies, and manage investor diligence, while mentoring junior team members and representing the firm at conferences and meetings.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in placement agent/PFG role.
• Established network of LP relationships.
• Deep understanding of private equity strategies, fund structures, and capital raising processes.
• Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
• Team-oriented and capable of mentoring junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Originate, develop, and manage relationships with institutional investors, including public pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, and consultants.
• Drive capital raising efforts for private equity funds by presenting strategies and managing investor diligence.
• Lead LP coverage efforts in the Northeast region with proactive dialogue with key decision-makers.
• Partner with the project management team to deliver investor materials and responses to requests.
• Provide market intelligence and feedback to internal stakeholders and fund manager clients.
• Mentor and support junior distribution team members.
• Represent the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and investor meetings.
