Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Vice President, Preconstruction to lead the strategic planning and execution readiness for hyperscale data center developments across multiple US locations including Denver, Phoenix, Santa Clara, or Ashburn.

You will drive the full preconstruction lifecycle from site validation to design development, ensuring de-risked, power-aligned projects and partnering across development, design, construction, and operations to accelerate delivery and support AI workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of leadership in preconstruction, development, design or construction.
• Experience delivering hyperscale or campus-style developments.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen; able to influence investments.
• Experience with high-density compute environments and evolving AI infrastructure.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%+.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead preconstruction strategy and scalable delivery models.
• Lead due diligence with power availability, utility coordination, and expansion planning.
• Oversee campus master planning, high-density layouts, and design management.
• Drive disciplined cost models and schedules to meet rapid delivery timelines.
• Ensure smooth handoff with defined scope and budgets to construction teams.
• Collaborate with real estate, development, design, construction, operations, and Commercial teams.
• Represent Vantage with utilities and jurisdictions to secure approvals.
