Job summary

Oracle is seeking a leader to drive a large, regionally dispersed Platform Software Engineering group with a 1–3 year strategy. You will design, evolve, and operate shared platform services, runtimes, and integration frameworks end to end, ensuring interoperability and security.

You will set standards, govern delivery, and lead cross‑functional teams to improve reliability, developer experience, and ecosystem health while managing budget and headcount.

Responsibilities

• Translate platform strategy into a 1–3 year portfolio and operating plan with targets and milestones.
• Set standards for platform architecture, API/SDK design, and versioning; enforce compliance.
• Govern CD and safe change: automation validation, canary/rollout plans, and rollback criteria.
• Define operability: SLO/SLI targets, telemetry, dashboards, and change/incident processes.
• Lead program reviews on interoperability, performance, and security; approve exceptions with controls.
• Direct platform adoption: publish references, migration guides, and adoption playbooks; measure uptake.
• Ensure security, privacy, and regulatory obligations are embedded with policy-as-code.
• Coordinate cross-functional rhythms with Product, Design, SRE/Security, and engineering teams.
• Standardize docs and ADRs; ensure traceability from requirements to release and outcomes.
• Oversee budget, headcount, and vendors; mentor Directors; foster inclusive, high-performance culture.
