Job summary

Extreme Networks is seeking a Vice President of Engineering — Wireless to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of our wireless networking portfolio. This senior leadership role will oversee end-to-end development across access points, controllers, and cloud platforms, with a focus on scale, performance, and security for enterprise customers.

The ideal candidate combines deep Wi‑Fi/WLAN expertise with proven leadership of large, distributed teams and a track record of delivering complex

Qualifications

• 12–15 years in networking or wireless tech with leadership
• Strong track record shipping hardware/software at scale
• Experience building and scaling distributed teams including offshore/nearshore

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end engineering roadmap for wireless hardware and software
• Lead and grow multi-disciplinary engineering org
• Partner with Product, Sales, and CS to translate requirements into strategy
• Drive SDLC practices, AI tools, CI/CD, QA, and security-by-design
• Ensure performance, scalability, and regulatory compliance (FCC/CE)
• Collaborate with wired networking and cloud/AI teams for cohesive Platform ONE
• Manage budgets, vendor/ODM relationships, and resource planning
• Represent engineering in executive reviews and customer/analyst briefings
• Advise on innovation in Wi‑Fi 8, Agentic AI, and private wireless
