Job summary

MassDevelopment seeks a visionary VP of Strategy & Innovation to lead complex cross‑agency initiatives and advance the Center for Strategy & Innovation. You will guide research, stakeholder engagement, and the design of new programs, moving initiatives from concept to implementation across the agency.

The role requires curiosity, strong facilitation and writing, and the ability to work across teams in a dynamic environment. Collaboration and innovation are core values at MassDevelopment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in policy, urban planning, economic or community development, nonprofit management, business administration, or related field.
• 5+ years in community organizing, organizational development, management consulting, or related field with econ/public policy focus.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.
• Strong project management across multiple initiatives, priorities, and deadlines.
• Collaborate effectively across teams with stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with visual content tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate cross‑agency discussions to surface ideas and align teams.
• Develop, deliver, and communicate strategy and progress through presentations and docs.
• Research horizon strategies and translate insights into opportunities.
• Design, launch, and implement pilots and programmatic improvements.
• Support pilot management, evaluation, and integration into operations.
• Coordinate trainings and staff development aligned with strategic goals.
