Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking a hands-on VP Software Engineering Lead (.NET/AWS) to design, develop, enhance, and optimize cloud-native applications supporting critical business capabilities. This role is ~80% hands-on engineering and 20% technical leadership without formal people management.

You will lead technical design, contribute production code, drive modernization, and help scale highly available applications while partnering with Product, Architecture, QA, and DevOps teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience designing enterprise web apps and APIs.
• 5+ years in a Technical Lead/Lead Engineer role delivering complex solutions.
• 3+ years hands-on with AWS cloud-native applications and .NET stack.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver cloud-native .NET apps on AWS.
• Modernize, scale, and optimize existing enterprise applications and services.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and distributed components.
• Drive resiliency, performance, security, and observability best practices.
• Contribute production-quality code and participate in architecture reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, Release Management, and DevOps.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to teams.
• Participate in planning, estimation, and agile delivery activities.
• Maintain technical documentation and architecture artifacts.
• Support leadership with metrics and continuous improvement.
