Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking a hands-on VP Software Engineering Lead to design, develop, and optimize cloud-native .NET applications on AWS. This role blends substantial coding with technical leadership and mentoring across onshore and offshore teams.

You will collaborate with Product, Architecture, QA, and DevOps to drive modernization, scalability, and reliability in critical enterprise services while advancing SDLC practices and production support.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience designing and developing enterprise web applications, APIs, and distributed systems using the .NET technology stack.
• Minimum of 5 years in Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer, or Software Engineering Lead role delivering complex software solutions.
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience building and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Strong hands-on development experience with C#, .NET Core/.NET, REST APIs, SQL Server, and Angular (Angular 8+ preferred).
• Experience with Git-based source control and modern CI/CD practices within Agile software delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver new functionality across cloud-native .NET applications running on AWS.
• Enhance, modernize, scale, and optimize existing enterprise applications and services.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, web services, and distributed application components.
• Drive application resiliency, scalability, performance, security, and observability best practices.
• Contribute production-quality code and participate in architecture, design, code review, testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA, Release Management, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to onshore and offshore engineering teams.
• Participate in technical planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and agile delivery activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, application workflows, and architecture artifacts.
• Support engineering leadership through technical metrics, delivery reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
