Job summary

Greenhouse Software is seeking a Vice President of Security to lead company-wide security strategy and execution across product, corporate, and information security.

Reporting to the CTO, you will guide the Security team, advise the executive leadership and Board on posture, risk and investments, and partner with Product, Legal, Engineering, Privacy, Sales, and Customer Success as we scale our data platform and AI-enabled product capabilities.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of security experience.
• Experience as Head of Security, CISO, VP of Security, or senior security leader.
• Experience scaling end-to-end security programs in B2B SaaS or consumer tech.
• Experience across security operations, cloud security, product security, IAM, risk, compliance, and incident response.
• Experience leading serious security incidents with Legal, communications, executives, customers, regulators.
• Experience with external auditors and leading SOC 2 and ISO 27001 programs.
• Experience presenting security posture and investments to the Board.
• Experience securing AWS/Kubernetes and modern identity standards (Okta, OIDC, SAML).
• Experience with AI security or governance.
• Experience with ISO 42001, ISO 27701, GDPR, EU AI Act, HR tech or sensitive data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the security strategy, multi-year roadmap, operating model, budget, and investment priorities.
• Lead a multidisciplinary security organization spanning product, corporate, and information security with AI-native approaches.
• Build and develop leadership bench, including hiring, coaching, succession planning, and career development.
• Own security risk posture, including enterprise, third-party, and vendor risk; set risk appetite with the ELT and oversee compliance programs.
• Lead security response for serious incidents, from detection to executive, customer, regulatory, and post‑incident communications.
• Oversee disaster recovery exercises and regulatory notification timelines.
• Govern AI usage across the company, including data handling, access controls, and auditability.
• Lead data security and governance in partnership with Privacy and Legal.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, IT, Legal, Privacy, and Finance on secure-by-default design and customer commitments.
• Advise Sales and Customer Success on strategic security reviews and enterprise deals; participate in trust conversations with CISOs and CTOs.
• Represent Greenhouse security with the Board, customers, and auditors; lead due diligence for M&A.
