The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing a robust sales strategy to drive market penetration and revenue expansion in the Eastern US. This role will focus on opening new markets, managing distribution relationships, leading and developing a high-performing sales team, and driving overall business growth. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with deep experience in the beverage or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategy & Market Expansion:
  • Develop and implement a national sales strategy to drive revenue growth and market share.
  • Identify and assess new market opportunities, leading expansion initiatives in key regions.
  • Develop and execute a structured retail business strategy, ensuring BRĒZ’s presence in national, regional, and independent retail accounts.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key retail partners, distributors, and wholesalers to expand BRĒZ’s footprint.
  • Monitor sales trends, competitive activity, and market dynamics to optimize sales strategies.
  • Distribution & Retail Partnerships:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for distributor partners, ensuring strong relationships and execution of sales strategies.
  • Manage sell-through performance, retailer execution, and distributor alignment to maximize velocity and availability.
  • Build and manage relationships with national and regional distributors to ensure optimal product placement and sell-through.
  • Develop and execute a national account strategy, identifying and securing partnerships with key retailers, on-premise locations, and strategic growth accounts.
  • Negotiate distribution agreements, pricing structures, and promotional plans to maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with retailers to secure shelf space, optimize merchandising, and execute promotional campaigns.
  • Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.

Sales Team Leadership & Development:

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team, including sales representatives and regional managers.
  • Establish structured sales training programs to ensure team effectiveness and growth.
  • Set clear KPIs and performance benchmarks for sales representatives and regional managers, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear sales targets, track performance, and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Foster a sales-driven culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Revenue Growth & Performance Management:
  • Develop and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and KPIs to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Lead the selection, implementation, and execution of a CRM system to track distributor performance, key account sales, and overall revenue growth.
  • Implement data-driven sales processes to enhance sales efficiency and reporting.
  • Drive the execution of promotional and trade marketing strategies in collaboration with the marketing team.
  • Expand the section to include the VP's role in establishing structured training programs for the sales team.
  • Add a point on setting clear KPIs and performance metrics for the team.

Strategic Partnerships & Brand Positioning:

  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to align sales strategies with brand initiatives.
  • Represent BRĒZ at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build brand awareness and strengthen relationships.
  • Provide feedback on market trends, customer insights, and competitive positioning to inform product innovation.
  • Create a workplace culture where people feel motivated and are excited to bring their best selves to work and commit to BRĒZ’s goals and objectives

Supervisor Responsibilities

Carry out supervisory responsibilities that align with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees and assisting with planning, assigning, and directing work; celebrating and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Provides regular performance feedback and coaching to direct reports including reviews.

  • 10+ years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role within the beverage, alcohol, or CPG industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully expanding distribution networks and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong relationships with national and regional distributors, retailers, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a hands-on approach.
  • Experience managing P&L, forecasting, and sales performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, sales analytics, and business intelligence tools.
  • Excellent relationship-building, and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills, ability to tailor messaging to the audience
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Proven leadership supporting remote and local teams
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written.
  • Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • 80% Travel required to events, venues, and various locations within the region
  • Experience in the beverage, CPG, or cannabis industries is a plus.
