Join our Legacy

The Vice President of Sales, East will oversee Musco’s Branded and Private Brand Olive business for retail customers in designated regions, reporting directly to the Chief Customer Officer. The primary focus will be managing Sales Directors responsible for the Northeast, Southeast, Southwest markets, and the Convenience store Channel with the possibility of handling Walmart and Sam’s Club as personal accounts. Success in this role is measured by achieving and surpassing sales, gross margin, and market share goals within approved trade spending. A key aspect of the role is to maintain and grow strong relationships with retail customers, sales agents, and senior-level personnel, while identifying new customer partnerships, distribution opportunities, and supply chain efficiencies.

Your Contribution to Excellence

  • Achieve Sales Targets: Meet and exceed annual sales and profitability targets for assigned customers and territories.
  • Strategic Planning: Utilize Musco Trade Marketing, Category Management, and Marketing teams to analyze business trends and create annual sales plans.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage Sales Directors and sales agents within assigned markets to achieve business goals.
  • Customer Presentations: Prepare and deliver timely customer presentations, including retail analysis, category management, marketing strategy, forecasting, and planning.
  • Market Analysis: Maintain a thorough understanding of the marketplace, plan and organize effectively, analyze market data, and prepare compelling presentations.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with retail customers, sales agents, and senior-level personnel.
  • Customer Plan Management: Administer and manage approved customer plans for your customers and those of the Sales Directors.
  • Professional Engagement: Attend customer and sales agency events, industry functions, and other engagements to develop and enhance professional relationships.
  • Travel: Travel frequently throughout the year to assigned markets, with an estimated travel requirement of 50% - 60%.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with trade marketing, category management, and marketing teams to create effective sales strategies.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee three direct reports and their customers through third-party sales agents.

What you Bring to the Table

  • Experience: 10+ years of senior-level experience with Eastern and Southwestern Geography customers.
  • Sales Development: Experience developing sales for Branded and Private Brand items.
  • Location: Current resident in Musco’s Eastern Markets, living near a major airport (NE, NY-NJ, Mid-Atlantic, Charlotte).
  • Education: MBA-level education.
  • Passion: Passionate about the food industry and enjoy olives.
