Job description

Vice President of Sales | Executive Leadership Opportunity

Remote, U.S. Based | High-Growth Manufacturing & Automation

Base Salary: $250,000 to $300,000 + Uncapped Commissions + Accelerators

We are conducting a confidential executive search for a strategic, results-driven Vice President of Sales to lead the next phase of growth for an established, U.S.-based manufacturer of high-speed packaging machinery and automation solutions.

We are seeking an exceptional sales executive with two proven strengths: the ability to drive significant revenue growth and the leadership skills to build, develop, and inspire high-performing sales organizations.

The company's initial revenue goal is $200 million, with a longer-term vision of reaching $400 million. Business is growing, and as a U.S.-based OEM, the company benefits from domestic manufacturing and reduced exposure to import tariffs.

Reporting directly to the President and Owner, this executive will play a critical role in shaping the company's future growth strategy.

The Opportunity

The VP of Sales will lead an established commercial team consisting of eight direct sales professionals and one business development partner focused on dealer and integrator relationships. As the organization grows, this executive will help build out the Product Management function.

The VP will also provide executive oversight of the Aftermarket and Service division. An established leader will continue managing that division, including its 16 field service technicians, and will report directly to the VP of Sales.

This role is about more than managing a sales team. It requires a leader who knows how to grow revenue, develop people, build effective sales strategies, and turn ambitious growth goals into measurable results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Revenue Growth & Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve aggressive revenue targets, expand market share, and build a sustainable foundation for long-term growth. Identify new markets, customers, and opportunities while maximizing existing business.
  • Sales Leadership & Team Development: Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing sales organization. Establish a culture of accountability, proactive prospecting, and continuous improvement. Travel alongside the sales team, develop their skills, and help close business.
  • Strategic Business Development: Identify the right customers, markets, and applications for the company's high-speed equipment. Teach sales professionals how to prospect effectively, prioritize opportunities, and pursue profitable business across small, midsize, and large accounts.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Build strong, collaborative relationships across Sales, Applications Engineering, Product Management, Aftermarket, Service, and other departments to improve execution and drive company-wide success.
  • Additional responsibilities include sales forecasting, pipeline management, setting and measuring performance goals, hiring and developing talent, performance reviews, organizational planning, P&L management, and working closely with executive leadership to align commercial strategy with overall business objectives.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven Revenue Growth: A demonstrated history of significantly increasing revenue, expanding market share, and successfully scaling businesses. Candidates must be able to provide specific examples of revenue growth and explain in detail how they achieved those results, including the strategies implemented, challenges overcome, and measurable outcomes.
  • Exceptional Sales Leadership: A proven ability to build, motivate, develop, and lead successful sales organizations. We want someone who knows how to coach salespeople, establish effective sales processes, create accountability, and consistently improve team performance.
  • Strategic Vision with Hands-On Execution: An executive who can develop a long-term growth strategy while remaining actively involved with the sales organization, key customers, and major business opportunities.
  • Business & Financial Acumen: Experience leading substantial commercial organizations, ideally in businesses at or scaling toward the $200M+ revenue level, with strong forecasting, financial management, and P&L capabilities.
  • Industry Background: Packaging machinery experience is NOT required. We welcome accomplished VP, SVP, and EVP-level executives from large, well-established corporations and related technical industries, including:
    • Industrial Machinery & Capital Equipment
    • Robotics & Automation
    • Food Processing & Foodservice Equipment
    • Manufacturing & Engineered Products
    • Large Consumer Products and Industrial Corporations
    • Other technically driven organizations with complex sales environments
  • Leadership ability and a documented history of building revenue are far more important than coming from the packaging equipment industry.
Executive Compensation
  • Base Salary: Approximately $250,000 to $300,000
  • Target Commission: Approximately $175,000 at quota
  • Uncapped Earnings: Additional upside through commission accelerators
  • Commission Payouts: Paid throughout the year as business is booked, rather than through a single year-end bonus
  • Proven Earning Potential: The previous VP earned more than $600,000 in a prior year
  • Location: Remote, U.S. based, with travel as needed
Why Consider This Opportunity?

Join a growing, American-based equipment manufacturer with ambitious revenue goals, strong business momentum, and direct access to ownership.

This position offers the opportunity to shape sales strategy, build a stronger commercial organization, develop future leaders, and play a defining role in scaling the business toward $400 million in revenue.

For a proven executive who thrives on growing businesses and developing exceptional sales teams, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact while enjoying significant financial upside.
