Job summary

Nitra is seeking a VP of People to lead and scale our people function during a critical growth phase. You will partner with leadership across Sales, Product, and Operations to align talent strategy with business goals and build systems that support rapid growth.

You will own recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee experience, while shaping scalable policies and tooling. This is a senior, cross-functional role with strategic and hands-on responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in People Operations, Talent, or HR, incl. Director-level.
• Experience scaling small to mid-sized orgs across geographies (50–300 people).
• Proven experience partnering with executives and senior leaders in fast-growing startups or scale-ups.
• Ability to maintain high velocity across departments during major growth milestones.
• Experience managing complex compensation plans across functions.
• Strong judgment balancing strategy with hands-on execution.
• Deep experience building and scaling recruiting and people systems from early-stage to growth-stage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across all levels.
• Comfort owning ambiguity and setting direction where processes don’t exist yet.
• Experience with modern ATS/HR tooling (e.g., Lever, Greenhouse, HRIS).
• Experience supporting both GTM and technical organizations.

Responsibilities

• Own and scale the company’s People strategy across hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee experience during a high-growth phase.
• Partner with executives and department heads to translate business goals into headcount plans, org design, and people priorities.
• Lead end-to-end recruiting strategy, including hiring frameworks, workforce planning, and bar-setting across GTM, Product, and Operations.
• Build and standardize hiring processes, role definitions, scorecards, and interview practices for consistency and fairness.
• Develop metrics/dashboards for hiring, retention, performance, and engagement; report insights to leadership.
• Design scalable onboarding, performance, and manager enablement programs for fast ramp-up.
• Coach hiring managers and people leaders on interviewing, feedback, and team development.
• Own foundational people infrastructure including job levels, documentation, policies, and tooling.
• Be a steward of company culture and values in hiring, development, and retention.
