Job summary

Heritage Imaging in Chicago, IL seeks a VP of Operations Excellence to lead enterprise-wide workforce scheduling, demand planning, S&OP, and service strategy across all locations. You will own the core operational platforms (Skedulo and MaintainX) and set the direction for the service organization enterprise-wide.

The role requires 10+ years of leadership in field service operations, a track record of scaling service strategy, and strong analytics to drive KPIs, efficiency, and revenue growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree is required; MBA or equivalent experience is a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership in field service operations or related discipline.
• Experience owning enterprise software platforms (e.g., Skedulo, MaintainX) from a business perspective.
• Proven ability to build and scale service strategy across a distributed organization.
• Experience leading demand planning and S&OP in multi-site settings.

• Set strategic direction for Heritage’s service organization and lead regional teams.
• Establish and monitor service KPIs, standards, and governance across the org.
• Lead demand planning and S&OP to align staffing, equipment, and capacity with demand forecasts.
• Improve onboarding efficiency and revenue forecast accuracy.
• Drive utilization, volume growth, and accountability via QBRs with leadership.
• Identify opportunities to boost efficiency, uptime, and overall service performance.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives supporting strategic growth.

About the Role

The VP of Operations Excellence drives workforce scheduling, demand planning and S&OP, service strategy, and operational best practices across all Heritage locations. This role owns the business vision, direction, and implementation of Heritage's core operational technology platforms - including Skedulo (resource planning) and MaintainX (parts and maintenance management) - while also setting the strategic direction for the service organization enterprise-wide.

Status: Full Time, Exempt

Compensation: $130,000 - $180,000 salary + annual bonus opportunity

Travel: This role requires up to 50% travel

What You’ll Do

• Lead enterprise-wide workforce scheduling, resource planning, and operational excellence initiatives across all Heritage locations.
• Develop and implement best practices that improve labor utilization, technician productivity, and service delivery consistency.
• Serve as the business owner for Skedulo and MaintainX, driving platform strategy, adoption, optimization, and ROI.
• Partner with IT and operational leaders to scale systems and processes that support business growth.
• Set the strategic direction for Heritage's service organization and provide leadership to regional service teams.
• Establish and monitor service KPIs, operational standards, and governance processes across the organization.
• Lead demand planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to align staffing, equipment, and capacity with forecasted demand.
• Improve new customer onboarding efficiency and revenue forecast accuracy.
• Partner with commercial leadership and regional presidents to drive utilization, volume growth, and accountability through Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
• Identify and execute opportunities to improve operational efficiency, equipment uptime, and overall service performance.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and special projects that support Heritage's strategic growth objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or equivalent experience a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in field service operations, workforce management, or a related operational discipline; multi-site or multi-region experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience owning enterprise software platforms (e.g., Skedulo, Maintainx, or similar FSM/CMMS tools) from a business perspective.
• Proven track record building and scaling service strategy across a distributed organization.
• Experience leading demand planning and S&OP processes, ideally in a multi-site service business.
• Experience managing through leaders (leading regional managers/directors rather than individual contributors).
• Strong analytical and change-management skills; comfortable setting KPIs and driving accountability across teams that don't directly report through a single functional chain.
