Job summary

The Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) seeks a full-time Vice President for Member Engagement to lead presidential programming, member engagement, and strategic research from its Washington, DC office.

The VPME will develop programs for presidents and campus leaders, oversee data-informed member services, and help recruit and retain CIC's 650+ member institutions, working closely with senior staff and CIC's leadership team.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership roles at CIC member colleges or national higher ed associations.
• Ability to nurture relationships with presidents and engage diverse membership.
• Proven skill in planning and delivering hallmark events.
• Ability to present CIC's mission to national/international audiences.
• Evidence of collaboration across institutions and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee presidential programs and annual CIC conferences and workshops.
• Develop member recruitment and retention strategies and insights dashboards.
• Coordinate budgets and collaborate with the communications team.
• Represent CIC in national and international higher education forums.
