Job Description

The VP of Global Sales is responsible for converting Microvast's commercially qualified opportunities into profitable, executable contracts and purchase orders. The role owns the formal sales process from opportunity acceptance and pre-RFQ preparation through proposal, pilot order, negotiation and closing, while protecting price, margin, payment terms, capacity, warranty and contractual quality.

Responsibilities
Global Sales Strategy and Bookings
  • Develop and execute the global sales plan aligned with Microvast's revenue, booking, margin, product-mix, capacity and cash objectives.
  • Translate corporate and CRO priorities into regional, market, product and individual sales targets.
  • Prioritize opportunities based on probability, strategic value, profitability, timing, capacity fit, cash quality and execution risk.
  • Lead corrective actions when bookings, conversion, margin, forecast accuracy or sales productivity falls below plan.
Opportunity Ownership and Pipeline Conversion
  • Accept, reject or return qualified opportunities submitted by Business Development within the CRO-approved service period.
  • Assign one named Opportunity Owner and establish a documented win strategy, customer decision map, competitor assessment, action plan and close date.
  • Move accepted opportunities through defined sales stages with evidence-based probability and next actions.
  • Coordinate with the BD originator after handoff when executive access, market context or relationship sponsorship improves the probability of winning.
RFQ, Proposal and Pilot Management
  • Own all formal RFI, RFP and RFQ responses, quotations, commercial proposals and bid submissions.
  • Establish bid calendars, content ownership, internal review gates and submission standards to ensure complete and timely responses.
  • Own paid pilots, sample orders, prototype orders and trial orders requiring a formal quotation or purchase order, except where the CRO assigns a named OEM opportunity owner.
  • Require each pilot to document scope, price, customer test criteria, delivery, development cost, warranty limits, decision date and production-conversion pathway.
Pricing, Margin and Deal Governance
  • Develop pricing and negotiation strategies that reflect customer value, competitive conditions, product cost, capacity utilization, risk and target margin.
  • Maintain price discipline and obtain required approval for discounts, exceptions, rebates, credits, tooling, engineering, warranty and nonstandard terms.
  • Ensure quotations identify assumptions, validity periods, volume ranges, escalation mechanisms, currency, taxes, logistics and payment terms.
  • Prevent sales personnel from making unauthorized verbal or written commitments concerning performance, delivery, capacity, exclusivity or liability.
Negotiation and Contract Closing
  • Lead commercial negotiations for supply agreements, purchase orders, development contracts, pilot agreements and other customer commitments.
  • Coordinate Legal, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain input into contract positions and risk decisions.
  • Protect payment security, intellectual property, warranty boundaries, limitation of liability, change control, cancellation rights, volume commitments and cost recovery.
  • Obtain all internal approvals before signature and ensure the final contract accurately reflects agreed technical and commercial assumptions.
Forecasting, CRM and Sales Analytics
  • Own the qualified sales pipeline, bookings forecast and close-date accuracy across all regions and markets.
  • Maintain complete CRM records for opportunity stage, value, probability, margin, decision process, customer contacts, competition, risks and next action.
  • Separate qualified sales pipeline from early BD pipeline and contracted backlog to prevent double counting.
  • Conduct opportunity aging, win-loss, conversion, sales-cycle, pricing and productivity analysis and act on the findings.
  • Require cross-functional validation that every proposal is technically feasible, manufacturable, certifiable, serviceable and financially acceptable.
  • Confirm capacity, material availability, delivery schedule, localization, quality requirements and program resources before customer commitment.
  • Escalate gaps between customer expectations and Microvast's actual product, schedule, cost or capacity capabilities.
  • Coordinate product gaps and repeated customer requirements with Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering and R&D.
Account Coordination and Post-Award Handoff
  • Maintain customer confidence and continuity throughout negotiation, contract approval and award.
  • Transfer signed multi-year automotive programs to VP OEM Management through a formal handoff covering obligations, assumptions, backlog, milestones, contacts and risks.
  • Transfer execution requirements to Program Management, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance and Global Services after award.
  • Support amendments, major renegotiations and expansion opportunities after handoff without creating conflicting customer ownership.
Regional, Channel and Partner Sales
  • Set clear responsibilities and targets for regional sales teams, distributors, representatives and channel partners.
  • Ensure channel agreements, discounts, territories, lead registration, compliance and performance standards protect Microvast's commercial interests.
  • Align global account strategies across regions so customers receive consistent pricing, commitments and messaging.
  • Evaluate channel productivity and terminate or restructure underperforming arrangements through approved processes.
  • Build, coach and manage a high-performing global sales organization with clear roles, quotas, territories and succession plans.
  • Establish training in product value, qualification, pricing, negotiation, contracts, CRM and forecast discipline.
  • Design incentive recommendations that reward profitable bookings, cash and contract quality rather than revenue volume alone.
  • Promote integrity, accountability, customer responsiveness, internal collaboration and fact-based forecasting.
Required Qualifications
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, finance, marketing or a related discipline required; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Twelve or more years of progressive global sales, strategic-account, commercial or business-development experience in complex B2B markets.
  • At least five years leading regional, global or multi-business sales teams with material booking and margin accountability.
  • Demonstrated success winning large multi-year contracts, managing RFQs and negotiating complex global supply agreements.
  • Experience in batteries, automotive OEMs, commercial vehicles, energy storage, industrial technology or another advanced manufacturing sector strongly preferred.
  • Experience selling across the United States, Europe and Asia or other major international markets is preferred.
Business and Technical Knowledge
  • Strong command of consultative and value-based selling, opportunity strategy, account mapping, proposal management, pricing and negotiation.
  • Working understanding of battery-cell, module, pack and system products and the ability to lead credible technical-commercial customer discussions.
  • Strong knowledge of gross margin, manufacturing economics, capacity commitments, payment security, warranty exposure and contract risk.
  • Advanced CRM, pipeline analytics, revenue forecasting, sales operations and executive-reporting capability.
