Job summary

Coda Search is partnering with a rapidly growing venture-backed SaaS company to recruit a Vice President of Finance who will build and lead the accounting and finance function from the ground up. This role reports to the CEO and serves as a strategic partner to the executive team and board, shaping the financial infrastructure for the next growth stage.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years in accounting and finance, with ≥3 years in senior leadership.
• Experience building or scaling the finance function in a venture-backed SaaS/tech company.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, incl. ASC 606 for SaaS subscriptions.
• Experience preparing board materials and engaging with investors.
• Experience supporting equity fundraising and audit prep.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation abilities in early-stage settings.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the accounting and finance function, including team design and hiring.
• Establish a reliable monthly close and produce compliant financial statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning with department heads.
• Develop SaaS metrics: ARR, MRR, net revenue retention, CAC, LTV, burn rate.
• Prepare board materials and investor updates; present results and recommendations.
• Oversee cash management, treasury, and runway planning.
• Select and implement scalable financial systems (ERP, billing, expense mgmt).
• Establish internal controls and policies for audit readiness.
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and service providers.
