VP of Finance - Insurance - Remote (JOB-032025-272963) New York, New York

Salary: USD 175,000 - USD 220,000 per annum + Benefits + Bonus

Overview:
Oliver James is supporting a new E&S Insurance Carrier + Program Administration in appointing a Senior Finance Leader. With a new CFO onboard, the Finance Team is expanding across multiple divisions. This role focuses on Financial Reporting and Accounting for the E&S Carrier, along with FP&A and Board Reporting.

Location:
This role is remote with periodic travel.

Compensation:
USD 180,000 - USD 210,000 base salary + bonus + LTIP.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead the preparation and submission of statutory and GAAP financial reports, ensuring regulatory compliance.
2. Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting aligned with business strategy.
3. Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives and investments.
4. Drive process improvements and automation within the finance function.
5. Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.
6. Manage RBC reporting, ORSA analysis, and tax compliance.
7. Lead and develop a high-performing team of financial analysts.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
2. At least seven years of statutory financial reporting experience in insurance/reinsurance.
3. Expertise in GAAP and STAT accounting principles and regulatory filings.
4. Strong analytical skills with financial modeling and scenario analysis experience.
5. Leadership experience managing finance teams and cross-functional collaboration.
6. Knowledge of reinsurance, capital management, and reporting standards.
7. CPA, CPCU, or progress toward certification preferred.
