Job summary

Humane Colorado in Denver seeks a Vice President of Finance and Administration to lead financial strategy, oversee accounting, facilities, legal, compliance, and risk management, and partner with the Board to advance the organization’s mission.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 7+ years of senior financial leadership, 5+ years of direct leadership, nonprofit experience is a plus, and advanced credentials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Seven years of senior level financial management experience.
• Five years of direct leadership over teams of three or more employees.
• Nonprofit experience a plus.
• Master’s degree and CPA/CMA certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee accounting and financial policies and procedures.
• Direct and monitor the financial position with sound fiscal controls.
• Oversee compliance with financial reporting and GAAP for nonprofit.
