Job summary

Ascent Buildings is seeking a Vice President of Engineering in Cullman, AL. Lead the technical strategy, mentor engineers, and drive project design from concept to delivery, aligning with business goals and customer needs.

You’ll manage budgets, schedules and bid documents, oversee R&D, and ensure compliance with building codes. Requires PE license or eligibility, and a proven track record in engineering leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; PE license preferred for most operating states.
• 5+ years of progressive engineering management experience required.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, civil/structural design for metal buildings.
• Ability to recruit, mentor, and lead engineers and interns.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Recruit, mentor and manage engineers and interns; foster innovation.
• Develop processes, KPI’s, budgets, and cost control for projects.
• Align engineering with sales, marketing, product, and manufacturing.
• Oversee design quality, schedules, and bid documents; approve changes.
