Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead our engineering department and align technical execution with strategic business objectives.

You will oversee engineering delivery, budget management, and client satisfaction across transmission line projects. The role requires PE certification, a Bachelor’s in Engineering (Electrical or Civil), and 15+ years in engineering with at least 5 in senior management within a consulting or utility-focused organization.

Qualifications

• PE certification is required.
• 15+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in a senior management role in a consulting or utility-focused organization.
• Proven experience managing large-scale transmission line projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and QA standards in transmission line design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering department, overseeing management, technical teams and support staff.
• Ensure projects meet deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations.
• Foster accountability, innovation, and collaboration within the department.
• Recruit, train, and retain top engineering talent.
• Develop and execute a strategic plan for the engineering department.
• Refine workflows, tools, and methodologies to optimize delivery.
• Mitigate risks impacting delivery, safety, and compliance.
• Oversee the department budget and resource allocation.
• Support business development with technical input on proposals and scoping.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
