Job summary

Provizal in Dallas, TX is seeking a VP of Engineering to own engineering execution, quality, process, and team development. You will share the CTO's responsibility and progressively take it over by codifying standards, building testing, tooling, review, documentation, and architecture practices.

You will hire and coach engineers, drive delivery predictability, and ensure alignment with business priorities. Remote/hybrid expectations should be clarified with leadership.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience with prior leadership at Head of Engineering, Director, or VP level.
• Experience scaling a small engineering team in a SaaS or multi-tenant environment.
• Hands-on with architecture, code review, and technical tradeoffs.
• Experience with data ingestion, integrations, or APIs is a plus.
• Experience in construction, AEC, or field-driven industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day engineering execution, including planning, prioritization, delivery, and release predictability.
• Oversee the quality gate: code review and architectural review of significant decisions.
• Define and document engineering standards and expectations for the team.
• Build testing, tooling, review, documentation, and architecture practices that reinforce standards.
• Coach engineers to make sound technical decisions with less intervention.
• Identify recurring problems and eliminate root causes.
• Spread technical knowledge across the team to avoid bottlenecks.
• Hire, onboard, and manage additional engineers as the team grows.
• Absorb growing engineering demand without increasing chaos.
• Collaborate with the CEO and go‑to‑market team to align business priorities with engineering commitments.
