Job summary

Swift Coat is seeking a senior technical and operational leader to scale our advanced-materials technology and manufacturing capabilities. This on-site Phoenix-based role reports to the CEO and requires hands-on work with equipment, processes, and data to build teams and systems for growth.

You will oversee engineering, program leadership, and production-readiness, while guiding multidisciplinary teams and expanding our manufacturing operations for high-performance thin-films used in space,

Qualifications

• Degree (BS/BEng/BA or higher) in engineering, materials science, physics, chemistry, data science, or related technical discipline.
• Ability to identify complex problems and engineer creative solutions.
• Experience in vacuum deposition, thin-films, plasmas, materials characterization, or related topics.
• 5+ years in engineering, manufacturing, technical operations, or program leadership.
• Experience guiding multidisciplinary teams and transitioning R&D to production.
• Proficient in using data and statistics to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead funded projects and manage milestones, reporting, and customer communication.
• Organize workflows across multiple projects to meet deadlines and goals.
• Direct engineering, program, and production-readiness activities.
• Develop and mentor engineers, technicians, and production staff.
• Perform hands-on design, coating deposition, testing, and data analysis as needed.
• Use data to guide engineering focus and decision making.
• Establish quality systems, documentation, and project execution processes.
• Develop strategy for building Swift Coat’s engineering and manufacturing operations.
• Contribute to technical reports, customer presentations, and funding proposals.
• Collaborate with customers, government agencies, suppliers, partners, and investors.
