Job summary

Oddball is hiring a VP of Engineering to scale our federal digital modernization efforts. You will lead 100+ engineers across multiple programs, set standards, and drive talent decisions while partnering with PMs and executives.

You will remain hands-on with architecture when needed, mentor Tech Leads, and shape the technical strategy across the portfolio, including AI/ML and cloud modernization initiatives for federal clients.

Qualifications

Experience leading engineering organizations in federal contracting.
Proven ability to translate commercial/product lessons to federal delivery.
Hands-on credibility with architecture and technical problem solving.
Track record building engineering culture and career growth.

Responsibilities

Set and drive technical standards and engineering consistency across 100+ engineers in federal programs.
Own engineering talent decisions and maintain a high bar for performance.
Partner with PMs, Tech Leads and VPs to ensure high-quality solutions.
Prototype ideas and solve hard technical problems to move initiatives forward.
Define and manage the engineering career ladder and mentorship structures.
Coach Tech Leads on technical and managerial growth; drive portfolio strategy.
Stay current on AI/ML, cloud platform engineering, and developer productivity.
