Job summary

Cobalt is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide a global team in building the world's most powerful AI-driven offensive security platform. Reporting to the CTO, you will partner with product management to execute technology initiatives fueling rapid growth.

You will own the technical vision, drive scalable architecture, and foster innovation while aligning with security and quality standards across distributed international teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/IT/EE.
• 15+ years software development experience, 5+ yrs in SaaS cybersecurity products.
• Strong multi-cloud engineering experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Proven ability to recruit, mentor and retain engineering talent.
• Experience leading distributed international engineering teams.
• Tech stack knowledge: Ruby on Rails + React; familiarity with Node.js, GCP, Kubernetes.

• Lead, hire, manage, mentor, and coach a global engineering team.
• Own improvements of existing offerings and build out new products.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on cross-functional initiatives.
• Own the technical vision and architecture for scale, stability, and security.
• Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation.
• Create and implement standards around quality, efficiency and security.
• Drive adoption of AI-powered tooling and modern engineering practices.
• Develop strategy to improve engineering quality leveraging AI and agile methods.
