Job summary

Cobalt is seeking a senior engineering leader to mentor a global team of engineers building the world’s most powerful AI-driven offensive security platform. Reporting to the CTO, you will steer technology initiatives that support rapid growth and integrate with product management.

You will own the technical vision, scale architecture for performance and security, and foster a culture of innovation, autonomy, and high-quality delivery across distributed international teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/IT/EE or related field.
• 15+ years in software development, with 5+ years building SaaS cybersecurity products.
• Experience establishing engineering standards and best practices for AI-assisted software development, including tools like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, manage, mentor, and coach a team of global engineers as we build the leading scalable Offensive Security Platform.
• Own the ongoing improvements of our existing offerings and the build out of new innovative products as we grow our portfolio.
• Collaborate with the senior leadership team on cross functional initiatives.
• Own the technical vision and architecture of our platform, ensuring that we are building for scale, stability, and resiliency.
• Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation.
• Create and implement standards around quality, efficiency and security.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in engineering design, architecture, and development, ensuring all solutions are scalable, resilient, and high-performing.
• Develop and own the strategy to continuously improve engineering quality and efficiency leveraging AI technologies, coding best practices, and agile methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 15 years of experience in software development, with 5 years of experience in building SaaS cybersecurity products.
