Job summary

Wolfe, LLC is seeking a VP of Data in Pittsburgh onsite to lead the trusted data supply chain, govern information, and enable AI-driven decision-making across the organization. You will own data governance, ownership, permissions, and governance across employees, AI agents, and business systems.

You will remain hands-on with architecture, design, and production code while leading the Data Engineering team and senior directors, shaping strategy and scaling Wolfe's data platforms for AI readiness.

Qualifications

• 12+ years leading data, knowledge, governance, or data engineering organizations.
• 5+ years in a senior leadership role owning people, budgets, and strategy.
• Hands-on technical leader with production data platforms and pipelines experience.
• Deep expertise in governance, metadata, lineage, quality, and lifecycle management.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across engineering, security, AI, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate trusted data pipelines with ownership, permissions, lineage, freshness, and auditability.
• Establish onboarding, governing, certifying, and retiring information sources with clear ownership.
• Create frameworks for information quality, freshness, conflict resolution, and trust scoring.
• Partner with AI, Engineering, and Security teams to ensure governed information use and attribution standards.
• Directly manage the Senior Director and Data Engineering team and drive recruiting and retention.
• Define and monitor metrics for trusted source coverage, data quality, and onboarding speed.
