Location

Schedule

This is an executive leadership role with approximately 30–40% travel to project, field, fabrication, and operating sites.

About the Role

Workspire is partnering with an established, institutionally backed industrial services organization that supports complex construction and industrial projects across multiple disciplines. The organization is in a significant growth phase and is focused on building the systems, leadership structure, and operational consistency needed to scale effectively.

The VP of Construction Quality will lead the development and evolution of the organization’s quality function, with responsibility for creating a consistent approach to quality across a distributed operating environment. This leader will establish the standards, processes, accountability, and measurement needed to improve execution, reduce risk, and strengthen customer confidence.

This is a highly visible, hands-on executive role for a quality leader who can move between strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will enjoy building scalable systems, developing teams, partnering with operational leaders, and getting close enough to the work to understand issues and help solve them.

What You’ll Do
Leadership & Operational Strategy
  • Set the overall quality strategy and establish clear standards and priorities that support continued growth.
  • Build and scale a company-wide quality framework that creates consistency across regions, projects, disciplines, and operating environments.
  • Partner with senior operations, technical, safety, and engineering leaders to embed quality into day-to-day execution and business planning.
  • Establish accountability, continuous-improvement practices, and performance expectations across the organization.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing quality organization, including regional quality leaders, inspectors, and technical specialists.
  • Use quality performance data to connect operational quality to cost, risk, customer experience, and business results.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for significant customer quality concerns and help maintain trust through clear communication and timely resolution.
Quality & Field Execution
  • Establish practical quality processes, documentation, inspection, testing, and verification standards across complex project environments.
  • Support project teams through startup and execution by identifying quality requirements, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee quality audits, field quality activities, fabrication quality programs, and other assurance initiatives.
  • Ensure work aligns with applicable industry standards, project specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, lessons learned, and other efforts to address recurring quality issues.
  • Develop meaningful quality metrics and reporting that provide leadership with visibility into trends, risks, rework, and performance.
  • Engage directly with field and operational teams when complex quality or execution challenges arise, helping remove obstacles and drive practical solutions.
What We’re Looking For
  • 12+ years of progressive quality leadership experience in construction, industrial services, energy, manufacturing, or another complex project-based environment.
  • Experience leading quality across multiple locations, disciplines, projects, or operating groups.
  • Demonstrated success building, scaling, or significantly improving a Quality Management System.
  • Experience in a high‑growth, private‑equity‑backed, or operationally complex environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction and industrial quality practices, including applicable codes, standards, inspection, testing, and NDE/NDT methods.
  • Ability to translate technical quality requirements into practical processes that field and operational teams can consistently execute.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to connect quality performance to cost, schedule, risk, customer experience, and operational results.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, drive accountability, and create meaningful cultural change across a distributed organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and relationship‑building skills with the executive presence to represent the quality function at the highest levels.
Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, or a related field preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CQA, CQE, CWI, NDT Level II/III, Six Sigma, or similar credentials are preferred.
Why This Role Stands Out

This is an opportunity to build rather than simply maintain. The VP of Construction Quality will have the visibility and autonomy to shape how quality is approached across a growing organization, establish scalable systems, strengthen operational discipline, and develop a team capable of supporting the next stage of growth.

The role offers a unique balance of executive influence and real operational impact. The right leader will have the opportunity to see their work translate directly into stronger project execution, reduced risk, better customer outcomes, and a more consistent operating culture.
