Job summary

Alpha is building a national network of AI-driven schools and seeks a VP of Construction to own the full lifecycle of new locations—from site viability to fully operational campuses across the US. You will drive fast, precise openings, coordinate with construction managers and vendors, and push scalable workflows that reduce time and cost while increasing predictability.

You will travel up to 60% to active sites, engage with regulators and GC partners, and steer cross-functional teams toward

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading real estate development or construction projects from site selection through opening.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent builds with timeline ownership.
• Strong knowledge of zoning, permitting, construction and vendor coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to make tradeoffs across cost, timeline and feasibility.
• Experience designing and improving operational workflows (permitting, design coordination, construction).
• Experience using AI or automation to reduce manual work and accelerate decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end expansion of new school locations with fully operational campuses on predictable timelines.
• Guide construction managers, resolve blockers, and ensure on-time, on-budget openings.
• Develop capital project proposals aligning scope, cost, and execution strategy.
• Lead vendor selection, RFPs, and contract negotiations focusing on speed and cost control.
• Decompose expansion workflows into AI-driven systems to compress timelines and improve predictability.
