Job summary

SolSearch Energy is seeking a senior leader to run construction for solar and storage projects across the Northeast. Based in the United States and open to remote work, you’ll oversee both construction and preconstruction, shaping how the team is structured and who joins.

You’ll lead safety standards, budget and schedule, and manage a growing team of construction project managers while collaborating with development to smooth handovers. Experience at VP or director level is ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience leading construction at an IPP, developer or EPC, ideally at director or VP level.
• A track record of delivering solar or storage projects in the Northeast.
• Safety leadership that comes through in how you manage, not just in a policy.
• Hands‑on field construction experience as well as portfolio‑level oversight.
• Experience hiring and managing project managers.
• Familiarity with Procore or similar tools.
• Based in one of the company’s core markets and comfortable spending time on sites.

• Stand up a preconstruction function covering RFPs, bidding and contractor selection.

I’m working with a well-capitalized independent power producer that develops, owns and operates solar and storage projects across the Northeast. After several acquisitions they have a large backlog of projects moving into construction, and they’re hiring a senior leader to run the construction function.

The role

You’ll lead construction and preconstruction across the portfolio, with the potential to take on engineering. The team is still taking shape, so you’ll have real input on how it’s structured and who joins.
