Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO, operations leaders, clinical-services staff, attorneys, and outside consulting resources.
  • Establish stronger compliance visibility, reporting, accountability, and go-forward processes across the organization.
  • Lead survey readiness efforts, including mock surveys, plan-of-correction support, deficiency remediation, and ongoing readiness monitoring.
  • Oversee compliance activities related to Medicare requirements, ADRs, recoupment risk, clinical documentation, QAPI, privacy, and HIPAA.
  • Maintain ACHC accreditation readiness and contribute to the organization’s future evaluation of CHAP readiness as appropriate.
  • Evaluate the current compliance and clinical-services team structure, clarify responsibilities, and recommend the resources needed to support the function effectively.
  • Coach and develop direct reports and cross-functional leaders on compliant hospice operations and practical risk mitigation.
  • Translate audit findings, regulatory changes, and operational issues into prioritized action plans that can be executed at the local level.
  • Help protect organizational performance by addressing process issues that may create material revenue risk.
Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of QAPI, HIPAA, privacy, clinical documentation, risk assessment, and corrective-action planning.
  • Experience supporting compliance across multiple hospice locations, branches, or markets.
  • Experience with ACHC accreditation strongly preferred. CHAP survey preparation experience is a plus.
  • Prior regional or national hospice compliance leadership experience is preferred.
