Job summary

Runpod is seeking a VP, Controller to lead the accounting organization as the company scales in a remote-first environment. You will own close processes, revenue recognition, policy setting, and audits, partnering with senior leaders to drive a modern finance stack and AI-enabled workflows.

You will build and coach a high-performing team, oversee tax and equity accounting, and guide the company through financings and inquiries from auditors and investors.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with 5+ years leading accounting teams.
• CPA license is required.
• Experience building and scaling an accounting function at a high-growth tech/SaaS company.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP, technical accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience designing internal controls including SOX readiness and leading external audits.
• Ability to present to executives, boards, and investors and translate complex topics into clear decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead Runpod’s accounting organization, setting strategy, structure, and priorities as the company scales.
• Build, hire, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Own close processes and deliver timely, accurate financial statements under US GAAP.
• Serve as the policy authority on revenue recognition and accounting policies.
• Own external audit relationships end-to-end.
• Design and own internal control environment with path to SOX readiness.
• Present financial results to CFO, executives, board, and investors.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, People, Revenue and other teams on contracts and equity matters.
• Set the roadmap for accounting systems and drive automation/AI in workflows.
• Oversee tax, compliance, and equity accounting and manage external advisors.
• Lead accounting work behind financings and other strategic transactions.
