Job summary

Runpod is seeking a VP, Controller to lead the accounting organization and scale it for rapid growth. You will own financial reporting integrity, close processes, and technical accounting, while partnering with the CFO and leadership on policy, structure, and systems.

You’ll build a scalable, audit-ready function, manage external audits, and guide the company through financings and future milestones. This is a remote-first, senior leadership role based in the United States.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years leading accounting teams.
• CPA license.
• Experience building and scaling an accounting function at a high-growth technology company (SaaS/cloud).
• Deep expertise in US GAAP, technical accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience designing and owning internal controls, including SOX readiness.
• Experience leading external audits as primary owner.
• Comfort presenting to executives, boards, and investors.
• Strong judgment and builder mindset.
• Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead Runpod’s accounting organization, setting strategy, structure, and priorities as the company scales.
• Build, hire, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and deliver timely, accurate financial statements per US GAAP.
• Serve as the authority on revenue recognition and technical accounting, set accounting policies.
• Own the external audit relationship end to end and lead through audits.
• Design and own an internal control environment with path to SOX readiness.
• Present financial results and key accounting matters to CFO, exec team, board, and investors.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, People, Revenue for contracts, equity, and accounting decisions.
• Set roadmap for accounting systems and drive automation and AI across workflows.
• Oversee tax, compliance, and equity accounting, and manage outside accounting/tax advisors.
• Lead accounting work behind financings and strategic transactions.

Education

Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
