Job summary

AbCellera Biologics Inc. seeks a Vice President of Medical Affairs to build and lead the medical affairs function from the ground up, guiding field teams, publication strategy, and stakeholder engagement.

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, this role will set medical strategy across the development pipeline as it advances toward clinic and commercial stages. The candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive scientific exchange with regulators and KOLs, and shape medical communications

Qualifications

• MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent advanced degree is required
• 15+ years biotech/pharma experience in Medical Affairs or related functions
• 5+ years of people leadership experience building high-performing teams
• Experience with prelaunch (phase 3) and postlaunch activities
• Deep knowledge of regulatory guidelines and compliance for scientific exchange
• Proven track record attracting, developing talent, and building cross-functional partnerships
• Willingness to travel 25-40% for conferences and company representation
