Job summary

The Fountainhead Group is seeking a hands‑on, experienced leader to serve as Vice President of Manufacturing Engineering & Facilities in New York Mills, NY. This senior role oversees manufacturing engineering, automation, maintenance, facilities, and capital investment to drive performance and growth.

The ideal candidate will blend strategic planning with hands‑on leadership, guiding cross‑functional teams from engineering to shop floor to deliver reliable operations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/industrial/mechanical engineering or related field.
• Significant progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of automation, controls, robotics, and manufacturing processes.
• Plastics manufacturing background with blow molding or injection molding experience is desirable.
• Proven track record of improving manufacturing performance via automation, process improvement, equipment optimization, and cost reduction.
• Strong strategic thinking, communication, problem solving, and collaborative leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a long‑term manufacturing engineering and technology strategy encompassing automation, equipment, tooling, facilities, infrastructure, and future capacity requirements.
• Drive measurable improvements in manufacturing efficiency, throughput, quality, equipment reliability, labor utilization, downtime, and cost.
• Lead technical initiatives involving automation and controls, robotics and motion systems, equipment design and integration, manufacturing processes, and production systems.
• Lead capital planning and major projects, including automation, equipment upgrades and replacement, new production capabilities, tooling, and facility improvements with ROI analysis.
• Strengthen equipment reliability through asset planning, root‑cause problem solving, preventive and predictive maintenance, and timely equipment replacement.
• Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies, equipment, vendors, and processes for potential benefits to the organization.
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other leaders to resolve complex technical and operational challenges.
• Build and develop strong manufacturing engineering and technical teams by mentoring leaders, engineers, and technicians.
