Job summary

Everest is seeking a VP, Reserving Actuary to lead the Global Reserving function. The role drives reserve adequacy, governance, and communications across Insurance and Reinsurance portfolios, partnering with executive leadership to influence financial decisions.

The role reports to the Global Chief Reserving Actuary and requires extensive P&C actuarial leadership, strong regulatory knowledge, and exceptional communication. Location in Warren, NJ with multiple regional locations is expected.

Qualifications

• FCAS designation is required.
• 15+ years of P&C actuarial experience.
• Extensive reserving leadership experience across commercial insurance and/or reinsurance.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience presenting reserve recommendations to executive management.
• Proven people leadership and talent development experience.
• Exceptional communication, influencing, and strategic thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead quarterly and annual reserve reviews across multiple business segments.
• Provide independent assessment of reserve adequacy and reserve risk.
• Oversee development and communication of reserve indications and recommendations.
• Ensure consistency of reserving methodologies across Insurance and Reinsurance portfolios.
• Partner with Finance leadership on reserve booking decisions and financial reporting.
• Support regulatory reporting, statutory filings, and reserve disclosures.
• Provide reserve insights to executive leadership, including trends and emerging risks.
• Participate in strategic planning and portfolio management discussions.
• Oversee actuarial documentation, controls, and model governance.
• Drive continuous improvement of reserving processes and reporting.
• Mentor actuaries in the Reserving organization.
• Foster collaboration with Pricing, Claims, Finance, and Underwriting teams.
• Champion innovation, analytics, and automation initiatives.
