Job summary

Athene invites a VP, Corporate Development to lead the development, execution and ongoing management of global reinsurance transactions. You will shape strategy, oversee due diligence, valuation, bidding, structuring, negotiation, closing and post-close reviews to drive strong financial outcomes.

You will provide Pension Group Annuity leadership, partnering with Actuarial, Investments, Finance, Risk, Legal and Operations to guide growth priorities and oversee execution across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in corporate development, reinsurance or insurance transactions with leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success leading complex financial services/insurance transactions including due diligence, analysis and execution.
• Strong understanding of annuity and/or life insurance economics and related regulatory contexts.

Responsibilities

• Lead transaction strategy and execution across global reinsurance opportunities.
• Oversee due diligence, valuation, bidding, structuring, negotiation and closing with accountability for outcomes.
• Build and expand strategic reinsurance relationships with clients and counterparties.
• Provide Pension Group Annuity leadership and coordinate with cross-functional leaders on growth priorities.
• Translate actuarial, accounting, regulatory and capital considerations into clear business recommendations.
• Establish transaction review standards, internal controls and performance measures; apply AI and automation to improve analysis and documentation.
