Job summary

Forward Air Corp. in Dallas seeks a Vice President of Procurement to lead a global, data-driven procurement function and the Corporate Real Estate (CRE) agenda.

You will shape supplier governance, drive cost optimization, and mitigate risk while partnering with CFO and executive teams to align procurement with enterprise objectives. This role also directs lease strategy, site planning, and portfolio optimization for sustained growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, management, real estate, operations or related field required.
• Master’s/MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of progressive procurement leadership in a large global org.
• Proven success leading enterprise procurement and transformation initiatives.
• Expertise in strategic sourcing, spend management, and supplier governance.
• Experience negotiating across transportation, logistics, facilities, tech, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a modern, data-driven global procurement strategy.
• Lead sourcing across direct/indirect spend, including logistics and technology.
• Drive supplier consolidation and total cost of ownership improvements.
• Establish SRM program focused on performance and partnerships.
• Negotiate high-value contracts and real estate transactions.
• Develop category management for transportation, warehousing, and facilities.
• Enforce procurement policies and governance frameworks.
• Establish metrics and dashboards to monitor savings and compliance.
• Identify and mitigate procurement and real estate risks through due diligence.
• Collaborate with executives on mergers, integration, and synergies.
• Champion sustainability and diverse supplier practices.
• Lead and develop a high-performing procurement and CRE organization.
• Advise leadership on strategy, market trends, and value opportunities.
