Job summary

Forward Air Corp. seeks a Vice President, Procurement to lead the global procurement function and corporate real estate, reporting to the CFO. You will drive cost optimization, supplier performance, risk mitigation, and value creation across the enterprise.

This leader will shape sourcing strategy for direct and indirect spend, negotiate complex contracts, and align with executive leadership to support growth and sustainable outcomes across a complex, global organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business/Supply Chain/Finance/Operations or related field.
• MBA or related advanced degree preferred for leadership track.
• 10+ years of progressive procurement leadership in a global org.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a modern, data-driven global procurement strategy.
• Lead sourcing across direct and indirect spend categories.
• Drive supplier consolidation and total cost of ownership analyses.
• Establish SRM program focused on supplier performance and partnership development.
• Negotiate high-value contracts and real estate transactions.
• Develop category management strategies across transportation, facilities, and tech.
• Implement procurement policies, controls, and governance frameworks.
• Establish dashboards and KPIs to monitor savings and compliance.
• Mitigate risks through proactive sourcing and due diligence.
• Partner with stakeholders to align procurement with regulatory and governance standards.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on mergers, acquisitions, and site strategy.
• Champion sustainability and ethical sourcing across vendor relationships.
