Job summary

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Fortitude Re) in the United States seeks a Vice President, Operational Accounting Lead to oversee general ledger, intercompany, and R2R processes across entities.

The role emphasizes accuracy, internal controls, and strategic improvements, including AI-enabled processes and system implementations. You will lead a team of accountants, coordinate with Treasury, ensure GAAP compliance, and drive automation while delivering timely, high-quality financial reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CA preferred.
• 10+ years of financial management experience.
• At least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Life & Annuity accounting and US GAAP/STAT/SFS.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Workday) and AI tools.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and refine general ledger structure and chart of accounts.
• Lead legal entity accounting, consolidation, and intercompany processes.
• Oversee FX translations, cash flow statements, and related-party accounting.
• Develop and maintain account hierarchy; ensure journal entries.
• Prepare SUM and SAB 99 coordination with finance teams.
• Develop robust control procedures; oversee reconciliations.
• Deliver timely, accurate financial reports for changing business needs.
• Oversee R2R, A/P, A/R, T&E, debt, and intercompany cash across entities
• Coordinate ledger feeds, new accounts, and interentity allocations
• Lead Sidecar accounting packages; ensure policy alignment
• Drive automation and standardization; audit readiness
