Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a VP to strengthen governance and risk frameworks within Americas Research Risk Management. You will help improve operational, conduct and reputational risk across a global scope, supporting day-to-day risk controls and audit readiness.

The role demands leadership in risk policies, incident analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Technology and Publishing. Strong communication and Agile familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years in Legal/Compliance or Risk Management; or incident-focused risk support.
• Self-starter with attention to detail and collaboration.
• Strong written and verbal communication; quick learner.
• Able to balance multiple initiatives in a fast-paced setting.
• Proven ability to communicate across functions and teams.
• Experience in large organizations with global stakeholders.
• Solid problem solving and appetite for tech and automation.
• Experience with Microsoft products, Zoom and Teams.
• Ownership mindset for control environment and delivery.
• PM skills; Agile knowledge a plus; SEC/FINRA familiarity helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day risk controls for the research franchise and operations.
• Monitor and improve control frameworks; escalate deviations.
• Maintain policies, investigate exceptions, and report incidents.
• Support development of a thematic incident risk assessment program.
• Lead projects on supervisory platform and information security.
• Assist with audits and compliance assessments for the scope.
• Coordinate with global teams to resolve complex risk issues and root causes.
• Implement ideas through analysis, change management, and documentation.
