Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Relevant experience in financial services, risk management, compliance, supervision, business controls, operations, audit, or a related control function.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, control frameworks, issue management, and escalation protocols.
  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and regulatory expectations and translate them into practical business guidance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level materials.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate information, identify trends, and produce meaningful reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive or complex matters appropriately.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across functions and levels of seniority.

Responsibilities

  • Provide risk advisory support to the Institutional Consulting Solutions and Morgan Stanley at Work businesses, including guidance on policies, procedures, controls, and risk-related expectations.
  • Partner with business, field, and control stakeholders to identify, evaluate, monitor, and elevate key risks and issues.
  • Support execution of the risk and control framework for covered business activities, including risk assessments, issue identification, remediation tracking, and control enhancement efforts.
  • Assist in the review and evaluation of new or evolving business initiatives, products, processes, or operating models to help identify potential risks and appropriate mitigating controls.
  • Develop and deliver periodic and ad hoc training or communications to relevant stakeholders on key policies, procedures, risk themes, and control expectations.
  • Prepare reporting, analytics, and presentation materials related to risk trends, issues, metrics, and governance routines.
  • Monitor risk themes, control gaps, incidents, and emerging issues across the covered businesses and help drive timely escalation and resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Field leadership, business partners, and second-line and control functions to promote a consistent and effective risk culture.
  • Contribute to special projects, strategic initiatives, and process improvement efforts across Client Segment Risk / Institutional Risk.
