Selby Jennings is currently partnered with a renowned financial services firm in Tampa, looking to fill a VP Risk Technology position that is crucial to building regulatory-compliant and forward-looking platforms to support core risk domain such as Credit Risk and Treasury Risk across the different segments (Private Client Group and Asset Management, Capital Markets, etc.). To thrive in this role, they look for an individual who is highly collaborative, as it requires much interface with Risk leaders, enterprise data teams and other senior management to ensure timely risk analytic and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define & drive strategy for Financial Risk Functions (Credit, Treasury, Market Risk).
- Ownership to risk technology roadmap (increasing platform capabilities & making systems more modern + efficient).
- Translate regulatory frameworks into scalable technical designs for automation.
- Lead the creation of a firm-wide Risk Data and Analytics platform.
- Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Data teams for compliant risk platforms.
- Advise risk leads on tech decisions, anticipating regulatory and macroeconomic changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet transparency expectations.
- Oversee execution, managing delivery and resources all the way through.
- Deliver executive briefings and strategic planning materials.
- Lead modernization initiatives like cloud migration and risk infrastructure consolidation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 15+ years in financial services technology, with 10+ years in risk, treasury, or finance systems leadership.
- Proven track record of implementing enterprise-grade tech solutions for financial risk management.
- Deep knowledge of risk platform design and architecture, and experience with data architecture, cloud integration, and real-time analytics.
- Notable leadership & communication skills.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and balance business needs with tech delivery.
