Job summary

LPL Financial seeks a Vice President II, Enterprise Data Governance Risk & Controls to lead the first-line data governance controls. You will shape the operating model, establish control inventories, and drive risk reduction across data lifecycle processes.

Collaborating with Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Internal Audit, you will deliver measurable governance outcomes, executive visibility, and readiness for regulatory examinations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data governance, data risk, or related disciplines within regulated financial services.
• Experience designing and maturing enterprise data governance and control frameworks, operating models, and inventories.
• Experience with data quality, lineage, classification, retention, and controls across the data lifecycle.
• Experience establishing governance processes for control design, testing, evidence, and risk reporting.
• Experience partnering with Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Audit to deliver enterprise-scale outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Enterprise Data Governance Risk & Controls function, including strategy, operating model, governance framework, and maturity roadmap.
• Design and oversee a data governance risk and control framework spanning data quality, privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and third-party data risk.
• Define standards for control design, inventories, documentation, evidence, testing, monitoring, and remediation.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to embed controls throughout the data lifecycle without duplicating testing.
• Align first-line controls with Enterprise Risk, Information Security, Privacy, Compliance, Legal, and other second-line requirements.
• Create enterprise metrics, risk indicators, dashboards, and executive reporting on data risk posture and control effectiveness.
• Own identification, escalation, remediation, and closure of data-related control gaps through RCSA/GRC.
• Serve as first-line lead for data governance audits and regulatory examinations, coordinating evidence and demonstrating control effectiveness.
• Evaluate regulatory and technology risks and translate them into pragmatic enhancements to the control environment.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team and advise leadership on risk strategy and resilience.
