At Total Expert, a company providing a Customer Operating System for financial services, the VP of Engineering will lead the Applications engineering team responsible for customer-facing products used daily by banks, credit unions, and mortgage lenders. The role focuses on evolving the platform beyond mortgages into banking, wealth, and insurance sectors, overseeing significant projects like a new orchestration engine and migrating services off a monolithic architecture. The company values a culture driven by customer outcomes, open disagreement, and systemic problem-solving.

This hybrid position based in Dallas, TX, involves managing three engineering managers and about half of the engineering staff across six product areas, including CRM, communications, and mobile. The VP partners with the SVP of Engineering to shape technical strategy and roadmap, ensuring delivery and quality. A key responsibility is developing leadership within the team, setting clear expectations, and coaching managers and engineers to improve performance and grow their skills.

The role demands a technically strong leader who prioritizes building effective teams that solve real customer problems and sustain long-term success. The VP will also collaborate with People and Talent Acquisition teams to raise hiring standards, define role expectations, and foster a unified engineering culture across US and India locations. The focus is on accountability, talent development, and maintaining high engineering standards to support the company’s growth and innovation goals.
