Job summary

Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. seeks a Vice President, Software Engineer in New York, NY to design and develop large-scale, multi-tiered software applications for trading and post-trading workflows.

You will implement Order State Management components and lead scrum-based delivery while supporting distributed systems across asset classes. Requires 5+ years in relevant roles and deep experience with Java, UNIX, Spring, Hibernate, Kafka and distributed messaging.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related field.
• Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or related tech leadership roles.
• Requires five (5) years of experience with Java, Unix, MQ, Relational Databases, Unit testing, Shell Scripting, MS SQL Server, Spring Framework, Hibernate, XML, and Web Services (RESTful or SOAP).
• Requires four (4) years of experience with Kafka, SQL, JDBC, data structures, algorithms, OO design, performance testing, Git, Gradle, Redis, Distributed messaging, multi-threaded server-side development, and Apache Camel.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded distributed software applications, tools, systems and services.
• Develop software services to onboard trading and post-trading workflows across asset classes including Equity and Options.
• Design and implement Order State Management components for Trading platforms.
• Conduct scrums and manage deliverables.
