Job summary

Barclays in Whippany, NJ seeks a Senior Blockchain Engineer VP – Digital Assets to design, build, and operate institutional blockchain infrastructure powering the next generation of digital assets. You will work across permissioned and open networks, deploying secure, resilient services and integrating with engineering, architecture, and security teams.

Minimum salary $170,000; maximum $230,000 with an incentive award.

Qualifications

Experience building, deploying, and operating production blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Solana, Besu, and other EVM-compatible technologies.
Proficiency configuring and managing blockchain network infrastructure including bootnodes, RPC services, peer management, and node lifecycle operations.
Experience integrating connectors, relayers, bridges, or interoperability services between networks with an understanding of finality and settlement models.
Ability to design highly available blockchain infrastructure with monitoring, data storage optimization, and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

Build and operate infrastructure platforms that support Barclays' Digital Assets initiatives.
Monitor and improve reliability, performance, and security of blockchain networks and related services.
Automate repetitive tasks to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
Collaborate with product, architecture, security, and platform teams to ensure secure and scalable solutions.
Drive risk awareness and governance in line with Barclays policies.
