Job summary

New York Life is seeking a Corporate Vice President, Data Scientist on the Advanced Analytics team to partner with senior leaders and drive high-impact initiatives using ML and data-driven decision making.

You will shape data science strategy across departments, lead end-to-end projects, mentor others, and help embed insights into decision processes to deliver measurable business value. Hybrid work with 3 days on-site.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in quantitative field with depth in data science.
• 5+ years of data science in a business setting; PhD reduces requirement to 3+ years.
• Strong Python and/or R, plus SQL proficiency.
• Experience deploying models in production, preferably in financial services.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Mentorship experience and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end, high-visibility data science projects from framing to deployment and monitoring.
• Translate complex business problems into analytical solutions and actionable insights.
• Collaborate with engineering/tech teams to operationalize solutions and strengthen model lifecycle management.
• Mentor junior data scientists and elevate technical standards within the team.
