Robots & Pencils is seeking a Vice President, Data to build and lead our data practice from the ground up. This player-coach role demands deep technical depth, business ownership, and leadership, reporting to the Global Head of Delivery.

You’ll establish R&P as a go-to partner for data strategy, modern data architecture, AI-ready platforms, business intelligence, and data engineering. You will own the practice as a true business, with full accountability for revenue, profitability, client

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data and analytics with leadership in a professional services or tech setup.
• Proven track record of owning a data practice P&L and GTM strategy.
• Experience delivering complex data engagements across engineering, analytics, cloud, and AI/ML readiness.
• Deep expertise in Databricks, Snowflake, and AWS and modern data lake/lakehouse patterns.
• Executive engagement with C-level stakeholders and team development experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high performing data practice with accountability for revenue and margins.
• Define service lines, target industries, and pricing in collaboration with commercial teams.
• Lead presales, scoping, and proposals; own strategic client relationships and accounts.
• Drive Databricks relationships and data partnerships into pipeline and delivery.
• Set technical standards and career development paths for data practitioners.
